1995 batch IPS Madhup Kumar Tiwari is new DGP Chandigarh
The outgoing DGP Praveer Ranjan, of the 1993 batch, is assigned to the role of Additional Director General in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

In a recent development, Madhup Kumar Tiwari, an IPS officer from the 1995 AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Chandigarh. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued the orders on Friday.
The outgoing DGP Praveer Ranjan, of the 1993 batch, has been assigned to the role of Additional Director General in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Ranjan had joined Chandigarh police in August 2021.
Simultaneously, the MHA issued transfer orders for the DGP of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Davesh Chandra Srivastva, from the 1995 batch IPS, to Delhi. Surender Singh Yadav, a 1997 batch IPS officer, has taken over as the new DGP of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Madhup Kumar Tiwari, formerly Special CP Law and Order in Delhi, is set to assume his responsibilities as the new DGP of Chandigarh police soon.
