Meanwhile in a match played at the Burlton Park in Jalandhar,hosts beat Amritsar by eight wickets. With this win,Jalandhar collected five points for their outright triumph. Resuming from overnight’s total of 384 for nine,Amritsar were bowled out for 409 runs in108.3 overs,setting a target of 130 runs for Jalandhar to be made in 85 overs. Overnight batsman Raman Arora completed his half century and remained unbeaten on 62 runs. On the other hand,Yogesh Kumar bowled impressively to add one more scalp and eventually returned with the figures of five for 99 runs. In reply,riding high on Pargat Singh’s unbeaten knock of 72 runs,Jalandhar got to the target in 29.2 overs. Earlier in the first innings also Pargat played well and scored a brilliant ton.

Patiala shock Ludhiana

In another match played at the PAU grounds in Ludhiana,Patiala made a brilliant comeback in the match and inflicted a shocking three-wicket win over Ludhaina to garner five points. Patiala had conceded first innings lead of 45 runs to Ludhiana. Meanwhile,Ludhiana had declared their second innings at 316 for 7 on Monday and given a target of 362 runs to Patiala. In reply,Patiala went on to plunder 363 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 98.4 overs. They were helped in their cause by Vicky Sharma (75) and Himanshu Chawla (74). The duo of Vicky Sharma and Prabhjot Singh added 73 runs for the second wicket while Himanshu Chawla and Vicky Sharma were involved in fruitful fourth wicket stand of 73 runs to help their team reach the target. Anil Sihag bowled well to take four wickets for Ludhiana.
