The Chandigarh airport shutdown coincides with the peak festival season, when passenger traffic typically surges. Airlines such as IndiGo, Air India, and Vistara have begun notifying passengers, offering rebooking options to nearby airports like Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (250 km away) or Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport (145 km).
