Nearly ten days after Deputy Director Public Health,Punjab,Vinod Kumar Jain was allegedly beaten up by four unidentified youths near his Sector-34 office,the police registered a case on Saturday.

Jain told police that the assailants sped away in a Maruti Zen (PB-08-V-2182) after assaulting and threatening him around 5 pm on August 13.

Jain has reportedly named his staff member as an accused.

A case of rioting and assault has been registered under Section 323,506 and 34 of the IPC in the Sector-34 police station.
