Carmel Convent claim Girls’ title

Carmel Convent School claimed the Under-14 girls’ title with a 2-1 win over CRPF Public School,New Delhi on the concluding day of the CBSE North Zone I Tennis Tournament being played at Mount Carmel School,Sector 47. Vanshita won the first match for Carmel as she defeated Shivya of CRPF School with a margin of 6-2,6-2. Vibhuti of Carmel Convent lost to Anukriti with a margin of 4-6,5-7 before the duo of Vanshika and Vibhuti ended the challenge of Anukriti and Shivya with a 6-4,6-4 win. In the U-19 girls’ final,Sacred Heart School,Chandigarh ended the challenge of DAv Model School,Sector 15 with a 2-1 margin. Ravnoor of Sacred Heart School scored a 6-2,6-4 win over Jaanesh of DAV Model School before Harnoor of Sacred Heart School lost to Shilpa of DAV Model school with a margin of 4-6,5-7.

The duo of Ravnoor and Harnoor then handed Sacred heart School win as they scored a 6-1,6-4 win over the duo of Shilpa and Janeesh. In the Under-19 boys’ category,DAV Public School,Sector 15 scored a 2-0 win over Modern School,New Delhi. Garry Singh of DAV Public School scored a 6-0,6-1 win over Rohit Jain in the first match. Singh claimed the first set with a margin of 6-0 before claiming the second set with a margin of 6-1. In the second encounter,Gurinder Singh scored a 4-6,6-2,6-4 win over Karan Salwan. In the Under-14 boys’ final,Hansraj Model School,New Delhi scored a 2-1 win over DAV Model School. Basil lost the first encounter to fatehdeep Singh with a margin of 4-6,6-7 before Garvit Batra scored a 6-0,6-1 win over Ishaque Iqbal. The duo of Basil and Garvit Batra then handed Hansraj Model School the win as they scored a 6-4,6-3 win over the duo of Fatehdeep Singh and Ishaque Iqbal.
