Buy the Way

The annual Summer Festival-Midnight Bazar 2011 (which, unfortunately, ends two hours short of the Cinderella hour) is back. And this time, the Red Fort is being recreated as a facade by artists from Madras and Bengal. Pass through its ramparts, and a shoppers’ paradise awaits you — rows of stalls selling footwear from Rajasthan, jewellery from Madras,Feng Shui items from Hissar and handloom from Benaras, among others.

“Evening is the right time to attract more people in summer. As for the facade, the idea is to bring models of seven wonders of India to Chandigarh. We started with the Taj Mahal two years ago and had the India Gate last year,” says Sandeep Chhabra, organiser of the Bazar.

The Bazar is on at exhibition ground,Sector 34,till May 15
