Deputy CM asks police to not delay release of impounded vehicles
Chandigarh: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has ordered the simplification of release of stolen vehicles recovered by the police or seized by it after an accident. He has directed the Director General of Police PS Gill to immediately issue instructions to all police stations to exercise greater discretion for releasing seized property to the general public as longer retention of vehicles/ property by the police was causing great difficulty to the public. He said the police should use the discretion given by amendment in CRPC brought in 2005 to release property that was not considered necessary for the purpose of investigation.

SAD youth wing Patron Majithia to tour state
Chandigarh: To activate its youth wing,the Shiromani Akal Dal has authorised youth wing patron Bikram Singh Majithia to tour all districts of the state and hold meetings of the party youth wing. This was announced by party President Sukhbir Singh Badal in a statement issued to the media in Chandigarh on Friday.

SGPC sending pilgrims Jatha to Bangladesh
Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will send a 60-member pilgrims Jatha to Bangladesh on Saturday. The pilgrims will visit Gurdwaras in Dhaka and adjacent places and organise religious ceremonies on December 3 to mark the celebrations of Guru Nanak’s 541st birth anniversary.
