Three people wearing hoods robbed a goldsmith of gold worth over Rs 1.5 lakh at Paonta Sahib on Monday evening.

Goldsmith robbed of Rs 1.5 lakh

NAHAN: Three people wearing hoods robbed a goldsmith of gold worth over Rs 1.5 lakh at Paonta Sahib on Monday evening. The goldsmith,Hemant Verma,was robbed while returning home after closing the shop. The robbers also shot at Verma. Verma,who was injured in the attack,was rushed to the civil hospital and doctors said his condition is stable. DSP Paonta Nishchint Singh Negi said police officials in Uttarakhand and Haryana have been put on alert.

Cyprus official meets Dhumal

SHIMLA: Nafsika Chr Krosuti,high commissioner of Cyprus,today called on Chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal here at his official residence. The chief minister informed her of the development of the state in various fields. She also met Governor Urmila Singh and Leader of Opposition Vidya Stokes.
