41-kg silver seized from jewellers

Malaut:The excise department and the police,in a joint operation,seized 41 kg of silver from Einakhera village on Tuesday. The market value of the silver is Rs 25 lakh,on which,Rs 14 lak tax had not been paid by the Amritsar-based jewellers. They were supgoing to sell it in Amritsar and it was a purchase ahead of festive season police said.
