Bridal Bonanza

Going by the weather outside and the fact that it is still August,an invitation to ‘Bridal Affair 2009’,a bridal show planned over the weekend seems a tad early. “But not for a bride or groom to be,” organiser Rashmi Bindra says with a smile. Apparently,this year the wedding season has jumped months and the auspicious time to tie the knot starts sooner than expected. “More than anything else,a bride needs at least six months or so to put a trousseau together and she needs to stay abreast of trends,” mentioned Bindra as she listed out participants of the plump show she’s put together. From wedding planners and counsellors to jewellery specialists and bridal wear experts…Bindra’s roped them all in. “But what we have consciously kept in mind are budgets,” she says and adds,“Everyone wants a dream wedding and the aim of this exhibition is to assist them in planning one like that.”

Set to roll out at the Taj on August 1st and 2nd,the two-day show will bring in jewellers like PC Jewellers,Gitanjali,Orra,Utssav CZ Gold Jewels,Kothari Art & Jewels,Champalal Jewellers from New Delhi as well as brand Divino. “We’ll have many city-based jewellers too exhibiting their bridal collections,” mentioned Bindra. As far as designer ensembles go,there’s a mix of everything – from formals to semi-formals,silks to cotton,georgette to chiffon et al.

“Another interesting aspect is home furnishing as well as celebrity wedding photographers and trousseau packers who will be a part of the show,” informed the organisers. As far as accessories go,from shoes to clutches,costume jewellery to bags,there’s plenty to choose from. Pitching in with beauty advice and plans will be VLCC.
