In a joint operation, Chandigarh Police and Haryana’s Special Task Force (STF) from Hisar apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in the crude bomb blast outside Seville, a bar owned by rapper Badshah, and De’Orra, a club owned by Rattan Lubana, in Sector 26, Chandigarh.
The accused, identified as Ajit and Vinay, were arrested following an encounter on the outskirts of Hisar. Police sources revealed that both men, linked to the Kala Jathedi-Goldy Brar gang, were brought to Chandigarh for questioning.
During the operation, the suspects reportedly opened fire on the police. In response, officers shot both men in the legs. The injured suspects were taken to a government hospital in Hisar, where they were receiving treatment at the time of filing this report.
The blast occurred at approximately 3.15 am on Monday when two bike-borne men hurled a crude bomb at Seville before throwing another explosive at nearby De’Orra. Both establishments were closed at the time, and no injuries were reported. However, the explosion shattered the glass windows of De’Orra, while Seville sustained no visible damage.
Police investigations revealed that the crude explosives were made using jute, iron nails, and bolts. Teams from the Chandigarh Police Operations Cell, forensic experts, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Punjab Police gathered evidence from the scene, including jute rope, nuts, bolts, and iron nails.
An FIR under the Explosives Act has been registered at the Sector 26 police station. Further investigations are ongoing.
