Former BJP MP Satya Pal Jain and councillor Davesh Moudgil on Monday urged the Chandigarh Administration to regularise need-based changes in the houses allotted by the Chandigarh Housing Board in various parts of the city, transfer the ownership to the GPA holders,as well as give similar relaxation in the EWS/LIG Houses too.
A delegation of the BJP workers from ward number 22,led by Jain and Moudgil, submitted a memorandum to Satya Gopal, chairman of the Chandigarh Housing Board. Jain and Moudgil said that with the passage of time, the size of the families of the allottees had increased, because of which people had been compelled to make necessary need-based alterations in their houses.
They said no relaxation had ever been given to the houses under EWS/LIG categories. However, notices had been issued to thousands of allottees even for minor changes and alterations. They urged the authorities to withdraw these notices and regularise the need-based changes. They said the government should fix a time limit for doing everything in the government offices.
Jain accused the Congress (I) leaders, including the local MP,of betraying the faith of the residents of the houses allotted by CHB. He said despite the fact that the local Congress MP had been a minister at the Centre for the last eight years and enjoyed vast powers,he had done nothing to redress the grievances of the CHB allottees.
