Gucci celebrates its 90th anniversary and the opening of the Gucci Museum in Florence,with a book Gucci: The Making Of. The 384-page tome is a tapestry of 52 original essays and 700 images offering an insight to the heritage and influence of this multi-faceted Italian fashion and luxury brand. Some of the images in the book have never been seen before and they recount Gucci’s origins,craftsmanship and innovation.
The book gives an exclusive look into the label with chapters dedicated to the early years,including those on founder Guccio Gucci,and the label’s birth city,Florence. Edited by Gucci Creative Director,Frida Giannini,it has essays and inserts by renowned contributors. Its a must-have for anyone who loves fashion and wants to trace it with an eye on contemporary global culture. The book releases in November and will cost $85 (approximately Rs 4,100).
