The UT Police has registered a case against two unidentified persons who had snatched a bag of court documents pertaining to a property dispute from a resident of Sector 36. The incident took place on Wednesday in the after noon when the complainant,Kamaljit Singh Walia,was returning home from the District Courts,Mohali. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP),South Surjit Singh Malik said,Kamaljit Singh Walia was returning home from the District Courts,Mohali on Wednesday after attending the court hearing. When he reached near the Chandigarh District Courts,Sector 43,two persons on a motorcycle wearing helmets stopped his car. They produced a pistol and snatched away Walias bag containing court documents. Walia,50,noted the registration number of the motorcycle and reported it to the police. DSP Malik said that the vehicle registration number was verified and it was found that the number was fake. The number which Walia had given us has been allotted to a car, DSP Malik said. Walia runs a catering business based in Sector 35. The police officials said that Walia had attended a property dispute case in the court and the documents which were snatched were pertaining to the same case. A case of theft has been registered under Section 382 (Theft after preparation made for causing death or injury) in Police Station Sector 36.
