If you are looking to score more than your campus classmate,here’s a fashionable way to do it. Handbags have become a part of very girl’s wardrobe. They just can’t do without them. Now that the college days are about to begin,we went looking for the latest in styles. When it comes to colour,black and brown are no longer norm. Bottle green,pink and blue…handbags now come with a designer look but are well within your budget. As far as materials go,you can choose from ‘imported’ leather,patent,jute,animal prints and more. According to Ramnish Kapoor,the owner of Baggage Centre in Sector 17,Chandigarh,“As far as campus favourites go,big bags are in so that it is easy to carry a register and a small bottle. Also small purses matching with outfits are favoured. Usually girls use imported bags that range between Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. We specially import them from either China or Thailand.”

Elsewhere,Nitin Garg of Kids Kemp Fashion House in Sector 7,Panchkula,tells us that colourful polka dot designs,bows and butterfly designs are equally popular. “There’s also the glossy and shiny stuff. In the animal print designs,we have on offer faux leopard,snake print and crocodile print,” he adds mentioning that jute bags also do well with the college crowd. The bags are priced between from Rs 400 to Rs 1,000. But if you are looking for pure leather bags then the prices vary between Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500. “We get big branded leather bags for girls so that they can easily carry their stuff and can look trendy also. For a cool look,we’ve got light colours like baby pink,light yellow and light blue in different designs. We have even got Barbie designs,” informs Anil Maini,of Regal Leather Point,Sector 7
