Auto driver held for abduction and rape

An Auto-driver was arrested by Chandigarh police for allegedly abducting and raping a 32-year-old lady,a mother of three children.

An Auto-driver,Advin Pace,was arrested by Chandigarh police for allegedly abducting and raping a 32-year-old lady,a mother of three children.

Police said that incident took place on late Wednesday night when the woman,a resident of Khuda Lahora,was waiting for an autorickshaw near the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh,to return to home.

The lady had gone to her parental house in Ludhiana. She returned to Chandigarh around 9 pm and was waiting for an auto when Advin Pace,who knew the lady and her husband,also an auto-driver,met her near PGI and told her that he will drop her home. The lady boarded the autorickshaw,but took her to a forest area in Khuda Lahora and raped her, said a police officer at Sector 11 police station.

Police said that after raping her,Advin Pace threatened her of serious consequences in case she revealed the incident to any one.

Advin Pace kept her in the auto for the whole night and finally dropped her near the Sector 22 petrol pump. The lady called the police and recounted incident. She was taken to the hospital for the medical test,where doctors confirmed rape, the police officer said.

A case was registered and the police team arrested Advin Pace.
