With four points in their kitty,International Master (IM) Atanu Lahiri,Arvinder Preet Singh,Linda Rangarajan and Ram Prakash shared the lead at the end of the fourth round of the First Chandigarh All-India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association at St. Xavier’s School,Sector 44,on Sunday.
Atanu scored a win against Vikramaditya Sahu,while Linda Rangarajan defeated PL Sharma. Similarly,Ram Prakash got the better of Hemant Kumar Singh,while Arvinder Preet Singh snubbed Manav Saxena’s challenge. Himal Gusain of Chandigarh was the highest placed city player with three and half points. He defeated Heera Singh in an exciting affair. Meanwhile,Tarini Goyal’s form continued to elude her as she drew with Deepak Kumar. Another city player Arunima Goyal lost to Ashish Kumar.
Cricket team selected for national tourney
PANCHKULA:The Cricket Federation of Haryana affiliated with Cricket Federation of India has declared Haryana Under-19 cricket team to participate in the Second V Hanumantha Rao All India National Under-19 Cricket Championship to be held at Hyderabad from January 10 to January 15. A fifteen-day long coaching camp was organised by Cricket Federation of Haryana at Hansraj Public School,Panchkula,and the team was picked up on Sunday. The team : Sumit Hooda (Captain),Ajay Duhan (Vice captain),Sunil Kumar (WC),Ashish Roy,Naveen Baloda,Jatin Arora,Charanamrit Singh,Dharmender Kumar,Pranav Bhaskar,Parveen Saini ,Chetan Singh,Ravi Kumar,Amit Kumar,Gurmeet Singh,Krishnender Vashist,Ankit Chaudhary.
