Luxury is not diamonds,designer bags,fashionable clothes…the ultimate luxury is a happy state of mind, smiles Dilip Doshi,Chairman and MD,Entrack,as he shows you the special edition of the iconic Mont Blanc writing instrument Meisterstuck,with a filigree gold-plated olive wreath on the cap,including a sapphire that links it to the hallmark of UNICEF. Mont Blanc Signature for Good is a charity initiative in support of UNICEFs educational and literacy programs,a philosophy close to Doshis heart. The feeling is deep-rooted and part of Mont Blancs tradition and education of children is a step forward in many regards and its gratifying to play a role in changing lives for the better. You can only give,from what you get and we all have to play a part, ten per cent of the proceeds from the sales of this stunning writing instrument would go to UNICEF. Also part of the initiative and the Taj Business Celebration Series is an exhibition of works focused on contemporary Indian art and its practice. Curated by Bhavna Kakkar,a pass-out of the Chandigarh College Of Art,the collection is by Gallery Blue Spade in collaboration with Latitude 28. From the masters to the young artists,the collection comprises genres of art,various mediums and perspectives, Bhavna shows you the stunning works,SH Razas Bindu,Jogen Chowdhurys and Prasannas techniques,Binoy Vargheses tryst with tradition,citys Siddharths use of natural colours and inventive language in his works. The classics Husain,Akbar Padamsee,Laxma Goud,Seema Kohlis beautiful and vain women…Bhavna has put together evocative art in a variety of media and also works of young painters. The idea is to introduce people not to just big names,but concepts in art, smiles Bhavna. The show is on at the Taj till August 2.
