Arpit Singh's all-ound effort (2 for 15 and 35 not out) went in vain as Greenfield Mohali lost to Satluj Cricket Academy,Sector 4,Panchkula by four wickets in the first league match of the 1st S Harpal Memorial (u-15) Cricket Tournament held at Tau Devi Lal stadium,Sector 3,on Wednesday. With this win,Satluj Academy topped their group and qualified for the semi-finals. Satluj Academy elected to field first after winning the toss. Their decision proved right as Greenfield Mohali were bowled out for 127 in 28.4 overs. Sukhdeep top scored with 21 runs. Karanveer Brar took three wickets,while Arpit,Harpreet and Saurav Vaswani bagged two wickets each. In reply,Satluj Academy scored 130 for 6 in 28 overs. Arpit was the top scorer with 35 unbeaten runs. Parminder Singh took two wickets. In another match of the day,DMW Patiala beat MCA Mohali by 29 runs to secure a spot in the last four. Batting first,DMW Patiala posted 174 for 3 in 25 overs. Anmol Malhotra (79) and Nikhil Mahajan slammed half-centuries each to take the team towards a challenging total. Amrinder scalped two wickets. In reply,MCA Mohaliwere bowled out for 145 in 25 overs. Taranpreet Singh top scored with 41 runs. Jaswinder stars in MCA win Chandigarh: A blistering half-century by Jaswinder Singh (68 not out off 41 balls) helped MCA Mohali register an easy six-wicket win over Green Field Cricket Academy during the Hot Weather Cricket Tournament played at BTS-48 on Wednesday. Batting first,Green Field made 164 for 9 in 20 overs. MCA Mohali chased down the total losing four wickets in 19.4 overs. In another match,YPS Mohali beat GNPS-36 by four wickets while Banyan Tree School,Sector 48 recorded 17-run win over DAV School,Sector 15.
