CHANDIGARH: After being admitted to PGIMER for almost two months,Haryanas chief parliamentary secretary (CPS) Ram Kishan Fauji was discharged from the hospital on Sunday. He was rushed to PGIMER on April 14 after he was found unconscious at his official residence in Sector 12-A,Panchkula. It was alleged that he had consumed poison following which he fell unconscious in his bathroom.

injured in accident
AMBALA: A college lecturer was killed and three others injured when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a car near Sainik Rest House on NH-1,Ambala Cantonment. The deceased was identified as Yudhishter,a lecturer in Pilibhit who had come here to appear in bank officers examination. The auto was returning from Ambala City to Ambala Cantonment station when an unidentified car hit. Yudhishter died on the spot.
Snatching accused held in 24 hours
CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Police claimed to have solved a case of snatching within 24 hours. On Saturday,Harvinder Kaur,a Khuda Lahora resident,alleged that around 6.45 am when she was on her morning walk at the Botanical Garden,a boy fled after snatching her gold chain. A case was registered. Later, a police party arrested the accused on Sunday. He was identified as Rahul Kumar,a resident of Sarangpur village. The stolen gold chain was also recovered from his possession. The accused, a native of Bihar,had come to Chandigarh a few months back to get medical treatment for his father. The accused was produced in a local court and has been remanded in judicial custody.
Food poisoning:
3 tourists stable
CHANDIGARH: A day after four tourists from Bangalore who had been staying at a Sector 22 hotel for the past two days were referred to PGI after they were found unconscious under mysterious circumstances in their hotel rooms on Sunday,three of them are stable and recuperating at the hospital. Sources said that the four had suffered food poisoning. However,no case has been registered so far as the police are yet to record the statements of the tourists. The four have been identified as Annamalai,Annanatrajan,John and Muthumalai.
Sector 16: Locks of 6
shops found broken
CHANDIGARH: Six shops were targeted by unidentified persons in Sector 16 market on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The locks of these shops were found to be broken when the shop owners came to open their shops on Monday.
However,the burglars managed to get inside two shops only. While cold drinks and juices were reported to be stolen from a shop,a mobile and Rs 3,000 were stolen from another.

country-made pistol
CHANDIGARH: The CIA staff of the Panchkula Police nabbed a person and recovered a country-made pistol from his possession. The accused has been identified as Jai Bhagwan alias Pappu,a resident of Sonepat. He was currently residing in Janta Shakti Enclave at Dhakoli. He was produced in a local court which sent him in three-day police remand.
