AIDS control society holds workshop for CRPF personnel
Chandigarh: As a part of its mainstream activities of conducting sensitisation and awareness programmes about the disease,the Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society held a workshop to equip Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) with knowledge of HIV/AIDS,at the Chandigarh Head Quarter of CRPF in collaboration with HLL Lifecare Limited (NACO Project). The workshop was attended by more than 280 cadets and officers. J S Gill,IG,Commanding Officer,5 Signal Bn,inaugurated the workshop by lighting a lamp.
Uro-oncology workshop concludes at PGI
Chandigarh: A two-day Live Operative Workshop on Uro-Oncology was conducted in the Department of Urology,PGIMER,on September 9 and 10 About 200 delegates from all over the country participated in the workshop. The experts in the field of Uro-Oncology discussed the latest developments for the treatment of kidney,bladder and prostate cancer. In his welcome address by Prof. AK Mandal,Head of the Dept. of Urology and chairman,Organising Committee said that incidences of Urological cancers have increased in the last decade and advancement in basic research has improved the care of these patients.
