Dr Rajeev K Puri,Associate professor of Nuclear Physics with Panjab University has been inducted to the International Advisory Board of Ukrainian Journal of Physics.

Dr Rajeev K Puri,Associate professor of Nuclear Physics with Panjab University has been inducted to the International Advisory Board of Ukrainian Journal of Physics. He is the only scientist from India to be inducted into the international panel,Dr Puri is a well known nuclear physicist. A post-doctorate from Germany and France,Dr Puri is also a double national awardee. He has published more than 300 research papers in reputed international journals and conferences. He has also been nominated to prestigious national awards like Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize,G D Birla national prize,Goyal Prize,C V Raman and M N Saha awards.Dr Puri has guided about 20 students for their PhD. He has also been referee to more than two dozen journals of very high international impact and has visited many countries to advance research in Nuclear Science.

Toppers honoured

Department of Education,Chandigarh Administration,on Monday,honoured the meritorious students of Class XII as well as principals of a number of government schools in the city at Government Model Senior Secondary School(GMSSS) in Sector 10. Along with the 43 students from various government schools who scored a prefect Cumulative Grade Point Assessment of 10. V K Singh,Finance-cum-Education Secretary of Chandigarh honoured the first three merit position holders of all the four streams. Vivek Mehta of GMSSS-35 and Ankit Sharma of GSSS Manimajra Town the top rankers,among all model and non-model Governnment Schools in Chandigarh,respectively,were awarded a laptop each. Addressing the students Singh said it was very satisfying to see the students of government schools perform well.

Interview for Geology

Interview for admission to M Sc (Honours School) first year Geology (on going students) will be held at 11 am and for fresh applicants at 3.00 pm on July 21 (Thursday) in the department of Geology,PU campus.
