The National Service Scheme unit of the Government College of Commerce and Business Administration,Sector 42 organised a talk on the “Role of youth in NSS” .

Chandigarh: The National Service Scheme unit of the Government College of Commerce and Business Administration,Sector 42 organised a talk on the “Role of youth in NSS” conducted by the state liaison officer NSS Chandigarh Administration,Bikram Singh Rana. He highlighted the achievements of the State NSS Cell and brought out the overall insight into the various programmes being conducted. The students actively participated and were highly motivated they vowed to bring a change in their personality by doing social welfare for the society. In the noon session Dr Saroj Nagpal presented and conducted a talk on “stress management”. She conducted various tests on the students to bring out their stress levels and suggested remedies to them. Later in the evening a medical camp was organized for the students.

Founder’s Day celebrations conclude at Sanawar school

Chandigarh: “Though we are having Commonwealth Games in Delhi but it is Olympics in Sanawar.” These were the salutatorian notes of Praveen Vasisht,headmaster,The Lawrence School,Sanawar,addressing the prolific turnout of invitees at the three-day 163rd Founders’ Day Celebrations of the school. The festivities concluded on Monday.

Naveen Jindal,MP,Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd,was the chief guest on the occasion. An NCC (National Cadet Corps) parade was presented by the students for trooping the school flag followed by a march past by about 100 old students of 1960,1980 and 2000 batches celebrating their golden,silver and tin jubilees respectively.

Inter-school debate held at Parwanoo school

Chandigarh: Eicher School,Parwanoo,hosted an inter-school debate competition on its premises on Saturday. The participating schools included DPS Pinjore,DAV Parwanoo,Parwanoo Public School,Eicher School Parwanoo and its sister concerns- Alwar Public School and Eicher School Faridabad. The topic in the English debate was “Examination-a better measures to judge one’s capability than alternative assessment system” while the topic for Hindi debate was “Shaikshik yogyata hi jeevan me safalta ka adhar hai”.
