With his “high and mighty” uncle Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and cousin Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal no more with him “personally or politically”,it’s his only son Arjun Singh Badal who on Saturday pitched in for support of his “isolated” father Manpreet Badal.

“Thank you to everyone who is supporting my father. Please reaffirm this support by joining him on November 14 in Amritsar where he will make public his next move,” posted the concerned US-based Arjun on his father Manpreet’s facebook account.

And within seven hours of his “emotional” appeal,Manpreet’s facebook friends responded in affirmative and posted their comments assuring “full support” to Manpreet.

Receiving at least 18 posts,Arjun was quick enough to not only thank all the “supporters” but also make them pledge,“Be sure to play your part”. Responding to Harpinder Kang’s comment,“Down with imperialism… isn’t it in literal sense nowadays…” Arjun was quick to reply,“Corruption would be more appropriate term now.” On another post by Mandeep Singh, who wrote,“I am anxiously waiting for November 14”,Arjun posted,“We all are”.

Another Manpreet’s facebook friend Mukal Sharma posted,“Punjab Day-November 1; New Punjab Day-November 14; rest will be history”.

However, despite his Facebook wall flooded with hundreds of messages daily, the ousted finance and planning minister has not posted any comment since Tuesday when he had last written,“Thank you all for your overwhelming support,we have now maxed the number allowed as friends on facebook at 5,000…..”. Sources close to Manpreet said he was presently participating in his alma mater The Doon School’s 75th Founder’s Day celebrations in Dehradun.
