Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh and SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami have raised serious concerns over the deteriorating health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is protesting on the Punjab-Haryana border. Advocate Dhami further criticised both the central and state governments for their intransigence, pointing out the contradiction in Prime Minister Modi’s rhetoric of calling farmers ‘Annadata’ while neglecting their welfare. He called for immediate action to pass the MSP law in Parliament, warning that if anything were to happen to Dallewal, the Centre and the state governments of Punjab and Haryana would be held directly responsible.
