The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a demonstration on the Himachal Pradesh University campus on Wednesday and also gheraoed the chief warden to protest against the poor living conditions in hostels. The protest was lead by campus president Ashish Rikta. In a statement,he said no repairs were carried out in the hostels during the vacations despite repeated demands by the students. He said electric wiring,switches and heating points in most rooms had turned unsafe due to prolonged use and could lead to a disaster any time.
