Buoyant by the landslide victory in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to announce its Mission Vistar committee for Chandigarh by end of this month, said party’s local leaders after meeting with senior leader Yogendra Yadav at party’s local office in Sector 41 on Monday.
Party local leader Vijay Pal Singh told Newsline that they had discussion on the issue of party’s expansion and as a result, Vistar committee was likely to be announced by the last week of this month.
This committee, he said will be given the task to expend its volunteer’s base in each and every booth in the city before June and then set up a democratically elected party structure here. We have been asked to finish the overall expansion work by July this year, said Vijay Pal.
Another leader HK Arora said that in the local structure, the party will also have a AAP citizen redressal committee that will closely establish contact with residents and help solving their problems from local authorities.
At the moment, our whole focus is to expend the party and then go among the people to win their trust. the party will definitely be preparing itself for Chandigarh MC elections but our major focus is to start working at the ground-level and get to know the common problems of the local residents and find solutions for that, said Arora while speaking to Newsline.
In the meeting today, Yogendra Yadav told local leaders to keep themselves away from both hype and haste and work at ground level. he told party workers that landslide victory in Delhi had put a lot of responsibility and they will now have to deliver and perform well to meet people’s expectations.
