AAP stands discredited, Cong only hope: Amarinder Singh Raja Warring
The state Congress president said that it was his dream to see the Congress return to power in Punjab.

Giving a clarion call to the party’s rank and file to be battle-ready for the 2027 elections, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring Friday said people were looking forward to the Congress as they see only hope in this party.
“The Aam Aadmi Party government was completely discredited and people were eagerly waiting to get rid of it. AAP had pushed Punjab towards bankruptcy. AAP wanted to take away the land of farmers to finance various schemes with that money. I congratulate farmers of the state who firmly stood against the policy, which forced the government to withdraw it,” Warring said, addressing a political conference organised in the memory of Shaheed Karnail Singh Isru, who laid down his life for the liberation of Goa, on August 15, 1955.
The state Congress president said that it was his dream to see the Congress return to power in Punjab. He also said that he was not a claimant for the position of the Chief Minister, saying, as long as the party is stronger, he will always be stronger. Isru is a village located in Ludhiana district.
Warring dispelled the notion that the Congress was divided. He made it clear that there was no factionalism in the party in Punjab and every leader and worker was working with each other to see the party winning the 2027 elections. He said, “The coming one-and-a-half-years were very crucial for the party as well as the state.”
The PCC president also referred to the vote frauds allegedly committed by the Bharatiya Janata Party in collusion with the Election Commission of India. He pointed out that senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had exposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to how his party was manipulating the electoral rolls to win the elections.
He said even in Haryana, where the general perception being created was that the party lost due to factionalism, it was actually the fraud committed by the BJP. He said, “There was a total difference of just 22,000 votes that made the difference in Haryana.” He cautioned against similar machinations by the BJP and the AAP in Punjab too.
Among those who addressed the conference were AICC secretary Ravindra Dalvi, Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha Partap Singh Bajwa, former deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh.
Prominent among those present were Tej Parkash Singh, Randeep Singh Nabha, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, and Lakhvir Singh Lakha.
