A group of photography enthusiasts showcase a slew of random shots
Each photograph chronicles a journey that looks at life,nature,people and places with a fresh angle and perspective. Through the lens,nine photographers present Random Shots,an exhibition that showcases their passion for photography and travel.
Organised by Pixel Palette,an organisation which strives to provide a platform to amateur photographers and serious hobbyists to showcase their work,Sarabjit Pandher says that the organisation is an informal and open forum for all those who love photography. We aim to provide an avenue for skill enhancement through seminars,workshops,interactions,travelling and anyone is welcome to join in, says Pandher,a keen photographer,who formed Pixel Palette a couple of years ago.
Fashion photographer Guramrit Kaur loves to capture landscapes and nature,and agrees its challenging,for there is no scope for manipulation. Travel photography,says Kaur,gives her imagination wings,as she takes you through her work titled The Dance of the Turtles,patterns of branches of a tree against an overcast sky. Others include Sukhna in the first light of the morning a fine blend of art and technique. These days,black-and-white photography engrosses me,as it has many nuances, says Kaur,who is showcasing here for the first time.
Travel and photography go hand-in-hand for debutant Anil Prasad. The desire to control low light for spectacular landscapes,over architectural figures and portraits guided Prasad to take formal training in photography. Using unusual exposure settings for a routine garden bench,as well as beams of a setting sun in the driveway of a house,exhibit his keen desire to experiment.
Keen to capture a play of light and explore the unorthodox,Pandher uses his training and experience as a journalist to let his photographs do the talking. Leh-Ladakh remains his muse,and photography a form of meditation. His photographs have been clicked in Nubra Valley,Dal Lake and Spain. An arresting shot here is that of the prayer flags in Khardungala,where Pandher captures a womans offering her thick,long,blonde plait. I travel across the length and breadth of India and I am committed to promote photography, quips Pandher.
Vikas Kahols passion lies in optimising light and other technical aspects of a camera to achieve correct and vivid exposure. Kahol loves to click still life,flowers,landscapes and people busy with their daily chores. Here,its an ariel view of Shimla thats picture perfect.
Senior officer in an insurance company Dinesh Vermas area of interest continues to be portraits,fashion photography and nature in abstract forms. The sunlight streaming through the trees and dew drops captured in an an amazing pink are the highlights here. As an engineer Gurpreet Singh still believes that no camera can come close to the human eye,when it comes to capturing detail of a frame. With street life,festivals and nature being his favourite subjects,Singh here exhibits night shots of Pinjore,the hills and autumn in the dark. Fascinated by terrain and rock shapes,Sanjay Kaushal is a landscape photographer who has captured varied terrains with an aesthetic eye. Shubh Mohan Singh,a psychiatrist by profession enjoys travel,street and architectural photography. In this show he aims to highlight the importance of wildlife and environmental protection,by exhibiting a rare collection of photographs at Project Tiger National Parks of Ranthambhore and Bandhavgarh at different times. Subhash Sapru finds his peace in photography,this is a relief from life and its various pressures, says Sapru,who captures ordinary people through his lens.
