Pankaj Bhadial,28,one of CRPF jawans who fell victim to the Maoists attack in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, was expecting to become a father and was slated to have reach home on Friday to be with his wife Kiran.
Pankaj and Kiran had married only one-and-half years ago. But it was Bhadials body that arrived at Sanot village near Jawalamukhi, wrapped in the Tricolour, less than 24 hours before his scheduled visit home.
He wanted to be with his wife Kiran. They were expecting their first baby. Even his posting in Chhattisgarh was to get over on June 30 but he fell victim to the bullets of Maoists, just a day before his departure to Delhi for next posting, said his father Dile Ram.
He was very patriotic. Right from childhood he wanted to be either in the Army or the paramilitary forces to serve the nation.
Even as the village continue to mourn the tragedy,an unsavoury controversy over Anurag Thakur, the newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president, holding a function in the village few hours before Pankajs body arrived on Thursday, has already come into focus.
Thakur,a sitting Lok Sabha member from the area and son of the CM,had arrived in the village with three Cabinet ministers and half a dozen BJP MLAs and BJP state president Khimi Ram,before the body had reached the family. And his supporters bursted crackers and shouted slogans to celebrate Thakurs appointment as BYJM president.
