98-year-old undergoes successful surgery

Fortis Hospital,Mohali today claimed to have saved the life of 98-year-old Nasib Singh Dhillon,an ECHS patient,through a technically advanced wrist angioplasty.

Fortis Hospital,Mohali today claimed to have saved the life of 98-year-old Nasib Singh Dhillon,an ECHS patient,through a technically advanced wrist angioplasty. The hospital authorities claim that Dhillon has become the oldest patient to get transradial procedure done in the region. He was operated upon by Dr R K Jaswal,Director,Cardiology at Fortis.

Dr Jaswal further said that Dhillon came to Fortis after he had suffered a heart attack and his heart had stopped beating for some time. The attack had damaged the natural pacemaker of the heart and blood flow to the vital organs had been compromised. Dhillon was a diabetic and his kidneys were in a critical state. Dr Jaswal added that the procedure was completed in 30 minutes and Dhillon recovered quickly after that.
