30 sweepers given blankets by senior citizens’ association

Senior citizens welfare association,Manimajra celebrated its ninth annual day function at the Gurukul Global School,Manimajra today. More than 400 seniors from the Tricity participated in various activities. President of the association Amrit Dhingra highlighted the activities and achievements of the association in the field of medical and social welfare. Ramesh Vinayak,Resident Editor of The Hindustan Times was the chief guest said that a conclave to discuss the issues and problems of the elders would be held shortly. Singer Dolly Guleria,who was the guest of honour,enthralled the audience with songs from her latest album. Area councillor Gurcharan Das Kala and nominated councillors Babu Lal and Shugfta Parveen were present on the occasion. A Punjabi street play ‘Rahat’ written by late Gursharan Singh and directed by Ikktar Singh was presented. More than 30 sweepers were given blankets and sweets.
