3 fake call centres operating in Panchkula’s IT Park busted, 85 held
During the raid, the police found that the call centre employees, fluent in English, posed as customer service executives and duped victims through fake offers and schemes.

The Cyber Crime, Haryana, and Panchkula police in a joint operation have busted three fake call centres operating in Panchkula’s IT Park and arrested 85 people, including owners and employees.
According to the police, the accused were running an international cyber fraud network that targeted citizens not only across India but also in the United States and Europe.
During the raid, the police found that the call centre employees, fluent in English, posed as customer service executives and duped victims through fake offers and schemes.
One of these was the so-called “Obama Welfare Initiative”, which they falsely linked to India’s Below Poverty Line programme to win people’s trust. Once victims were convinced, the accused extracted sensitive banking and personal details that were later sold to organised crime networks, said the police.
The police also revealed that victims were tricked into purchasing online coupons which were converted into Bitcoin and transferred abroad through hawala channels.
During the raids, the police seized a large quantity of digital equipment and cash from the three fake call centers. From Certys IT Services, the team recovered 85 laptops, 62 mobile phones, and Rs 8.40 lakh in cash. A raid on iSpace Technologies Pvt Ltd led to the recovery of 62 laptops, 60 mobile phones, and Rs 73,176 in cash. From the third call centre, the police confiscated 18 mobile phones, 21 CPUs, one laptop, and Rs 3.20 lakh in cash.
The police said that three separate FIRs have been registered and about 10 of those arrested have been identified as prime accused.
Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur said the action demonstrated the Haryana Police’s firm resolve to combat cybercrime and strengthen public trust.
