3 cops assaulted in two incidents

While three persons managed to flee,two accused,Saurabh,a resident of Sector 32,and Gurdeep,a resident of Sector 40,were nabbed by the constables. During the melee,the two police constables were assaulted with a rod by Saurabh and Gurdeep who were allegedly under the influence of drugs.

Both the constables were rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital,Sector 16. While Ashok was injured on many parts of his body,Nityanand suffered head injuries. Both the accused,Saurav and Gagandeep,were arrested and were booked on charges of attempt to murder.

Another incident occurred about 3 pm when the PCR received information about a brawl involving a police official in Sector 31. One of the police officials said,“A drunk man was fighting with a woman in Sector 31. An ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspector),Karam Chand,posted in Sector 31 Police Station,noticed the two fight. He approached the man and the woman and tried to sort out the matter. Instead,the person,Sunil,started arguing with the ASI.”

ASI Karam Chand called the PCR. As soon as the PCR vehicle reached,the brawl turned violent and the accused,Sunil,who was in inebriated condition,allegedly beat the ASI with the jack in the PCR vehicle. Following this,the ASI was rushed to PGI and was detected with a fracture. Later,the accused was arrested.
