Two women and a child, who returned from the US after around five months, have been admitted in PGI with symptoms of swine flu.
Aged 60 and 25 years, the women belong to one family and complained of fever and sore throat. While the older woman went to Baltimore and New York in February this year, the other woman and a three-and-a-half-year-old child had been in that country since January.
They came back by an Air India flight on June 16 and were admitted with flu-like symptoms late on Saturday night. They have been kept in the isolation ward, said a health official. Samples of their throat swabs have been taken. It will take one or two days to get the reports.
There was, meanwhile, confusion over the status of a 22-year-old woman admitted in the PGI isolation ward since Friday as the National Institute of Communicable Diseases,Delhi, asked the health authorities to resend her throat swab samples. The samples were sent again and they tested negative, added the official.
Three hospitals in the city have till now received 12 suspect cases of swine flu and none of them has tested positive.
