19-year-old found murdered

The deceased is reported to be a drug addict and even got treatment at PGI some time back.

According to prima-facie evidence,the deceased seems to have been hit with something blunt and bled to death. The body has been sent to GMSH-16 where the post mortem examination will be conducted on Saturday to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police have started investigating the case.

On Friday morning,Monu’s family learned about his death through police personnel who had come to the house. Speaking to Newsline,Vineet,brother of the deceased,said,“Monu had left the house around 6 pm on Thursday when I was away and my sister had gone for her tuition. He did not return the whole night and we thought he would return the next day as he always did. We got the news about his death around 10 am today through police personnel only when they reached our house.”

He added that his brother had entered into a fight with some boys of the locality a few days back. He suspected that some known person had taken him to the spot and later murdered him.

The victim’s father Moti Lal is an auto-rickshaw driver while Kamla,Monu’s mother,worked as a home nurse.

The victim was unemployed. The police questioned a few youths from the locality in relation to the case.
