As many as 100 Indian prisoners, who were sent home by Pakistan authorities, arrived in India via Attari-Wagah border checkpost on Tuesday.

They are all fishermen from Gujarat and Maharashtra, who were arrested by the Pakistan Maritime Agency while fishing in the Arabian sea. Most of them had completed their jail sentence in Karachi in Sindh province and said they had inadvertently crossed into Pakistan’s territory and were arrested on trespassing charges.

With their boats confiscated, the fishermen now have a grudge that they would find it difficult to buy new boats for their livelihood.
