A deputy collector posted at Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh resigned from her post for being allegedly denied leave to attend an international event and her new house’s inaugural function.
Nisha Bangre, the resigned officer, mentioned in her resignation letter that she was denied leave to attend the International All Religion Peace Conference and World Peace Prize Award Ceremony where she, a Buddhist, could have witnessed the mortal remains of the Buddha. Her fundamental rights, religious beliefs and constitutional values had been compromised, she alleged.
