Man who stabbed BMTC conductor carried knife to kill his former boss for firing him: Bengaluru police
The Bengaluru police said the accused feared his former employer would sabotage future job opportunities.

The investigation into the stabbing of a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) conductor revealed that the accused was carrying a knife to stab his former boss who fired him, said the police.
According to the police, Harsh Sinha, 25, from Jharkhand, had been working in Bengaluru for six years before being fired from his job at a BPO company in Whitefield on September 20.
On October 1, Sinha boarded a BMTC Volvo bus around 5.15 pm and stood near the middle doors. Concerned about his safety, the conductor, Yogesh, 45, asked him to step aside. Offended, Sinha allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Yogesh in the stomach.
The police arrested Sinha soon after the incident and took Yogesh to a nearby hospital, where he was reportedly recovering and out of danger. During interrogation, Sinha revealed that he was carrying the vegetable-cutting knife with the intent to kill his former boss, fearing his former employer would sabotage future job opportunities, said the police.
“Sinha had been jobless and wandering the city since his dismissal. He feared that his ex-boss would block his chances of getting hired elsewhere,” an officer said.
The Whitefield police registered an FIR for attempted murder and were investigating the reasons behind Sinha’s firing.
After stabbing the conductor, Sinha allegedly tried to stab other passengers and forced them to run out of the bus. The bus driver, Siddalingaswamy, locked the door and jumped out, leaving Sinha inside. Sinha allegedly took a hammer and started vandalising the bus.
The BMTC praised the bus driver for locking Sinha inside the bus after all the other passengers had run away.
