Family goes missing from resort near Bandipur in Karnataka, police suspect abduction by creditors
The family left their luggage behind and drove off in their car, which was last traced to Mangala Road in the Bandipur forest area.

A Bengaluru-based family has gone missing under mysterious circumstances from a resort near Bandipur in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district. Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu Police have launched an operation to track the family.
According to the Gundlupet police, J Nishanth, 40, his wife Chandana, and their 10-year-old son checked into the Country Club resort on March 2 but vanished the next day. They left their luggage behind and drove off in their car, which was last traced to Mangala Road in the Bandipur forest area. Since then, there has been no sign of them.
Superintendent of Police B T Kavitha visited the resort and ordered an intensified investigation. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Nishanth had booked the resort using a fake Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) employee ID. However, the probe revealed that he was unemployed.
Authorities suspect he may have been evading moneylenders, as he was under severe financial stress and had taken heavy loans. The police are considering multiple possibilities, including abduction by creditors or a voluntary disappearance into the forest.
