The Karnataka Lokayukta Tuesday conducted statewide raids across 68 locations concerning disproportionate assets, including two in Bengaluru. Search operations were conducted across the state in connection with 13 disproportionate asset cases registered against 13 government officers including BJP state chief BY Vijayendra’s brother-in-law Dr Prabhuling Mankar, across Bengaluru, Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Koppala, Dharwad, Mysore and Bellary.

Mankar is the district health officer at Yadgir district. During the searches Lokayukta recovered immovable assets worth Rs 1 crore, movable assets including cash, gold, silver worth Rs 49 lakh.
Meanwhile, according to Lokayukta police, Rs 15 crore worth of assets were recovered from BESCOM engineer, Jayanagar Sub-division, Channakeshava HD including Rs 25 lakh worth diamond, gold and silver and cash worth Rs 1.4 crore.
In addition, police also conducted searches at HS Krishnamurthy, chief executive (secretary) KMF, Ramanagara district and seized assets worth Rs 4 crore, including Rs 3.6 crore worth movable assets like cash, gold and silver.
Lokayukta also raided T.N.Sudhakar Reddy Deputy General Manager, BESCOM Vigilance, Bengaluru and recovered total assets worth Rs 5.7 crore.
Further, the police also recovered assets worth Rs 4 crore from Basavaraj, retired junior engineer of HESCOM, Hubballi. During the searches Rs 80 lakh in cash, vehicles worth Rs 24.84 lakh, gold worth Rs 18 lakh among others were seized.
The Lokayuta also raided the properties of Mahadevaswamy MS, lecturer of government first grade college in Nanjangudu, Mysore. Searches were conducted across 12 places and sleuths found Rs 6 crore worth immovable properties, Rs 2 crore worth movable assets amounting to a total worth of Rs 8.4 crore.
Searches were conducted at 9 places of Thimmarajappa G., Executive Engineer at KRIDL, Vijayapura district (Presently working as senior engineer at KRIDL Belagavi). Total assets worth Rs 9 crore including cash, gold and silver worth Rs 1 crore were seized during the raid.
Police also stated that total assets worth Rs 5 crore were recovered from Munegowda N. Deputy Director, Horticulture Department, Ramanagara district during the search.
Assets worth Rs 8 crore were seized by Lokayukta from H. D. Narayana Swamy, retired Vice Chancellor, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal & Fisheries University, Bidar. Further, total assets worth Rs 1.2 crore were recovered from Sunil Kumar, Account Assistant (Out Source) at Controller of Finance Office, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal & Fisheries University in Bidar. Assets worth Rs 21 lakh were also recovered from B Maruthi, deputy Range Forest Officer, Anegundi Div, Regional Range in Koppal district during the raids.
As part of the state wide raids, Lokayukta police also recovered total assets worth Rs 10 lakh from Chandrashekhar Hiremani, Senior Geologist, Mines & Geology Dept, Bellary and Rs 2 crore worth of assets from Sharanappa, Commissioner, City Municipal Council, Yadgiri (Presently).
