In view of the bandh, many busy areas in Bengaluru are expected to witness a disruption in services and transportation. While local shops and business, as well as public transport, are expected to remain closed for tomorrow, emergency services across the state will remain active.
Karnataka Bandh tomorrow: What is closed on March 22?
Disruptions are expected in the public transport system as KSRTC is going on strike. It is likely that KSRTC and BMTC bus services will remain impacted. Private cabs and auto services are expected to operate normally, but surge pricing amid high demand can impact services.
Some schools and colleges are likely to remain closed tomorrow. All students and employees are advised to check with their respective educational institutes for confirmation.
Local market areas like Chickpet, KR Market, and Gandhi Bazaar are expected to remain closed tomorrow. If protests escalate, malls and multiplexes can also have different timings.
What will remain open?
While bus, auto and cab services may be impacted tomorrow, Namma Metro is expected to run as per schedule. All hospitals, pharmacies, and essential health services are also set to operate normally. All essential services like fuel stations, milk booths, and some supermarkets will remain open, but smaller shops may remain closed due to the protests.
Quick commerce services and delivery-based apps like Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy and Zomato are expected to run as per normal. Food delivery aggregators will carry out deliveries from restaurants that remain open tomorrow.

Why did pro-Kannada groups call a bandh tomorrow?
The bandh in Karnataka on March 22 is being organised by Kannada Okkoota after a bus conductor in a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) vehicle was allegedly attacked in Belagavi. The conductor was allegedly assaulted by pro-Marathi groups for not speaking Marathi in the midst of the ongoing language war between Karnataka and Maharashtra.
