Ghanaian woman arrested at Bengaluru airport with 3 kg cocaine

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Tuesday arrested a Ghanaian woman with over 3 kg of cocaine at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru, officials said on Wednesday.

Authorities are questioning the suspect regarding the drug’s origin and intended recipients. They are yet to disclose the identity of the suspect.

“DRI seizes 3.186 kg of cocaine from a Ghanaian national at Bengaluru Airport; 1 arrested,” the agency said in a statement.

The agency has withheld details about the smuggling method as the investigation is progressing, said a DRI source.

In another incident last week, the Mangaluru police seized 37.87 kg of MDMA valued at approximately Rs 75 crore and arrested two African nationals from Bengaluru.
