2 minor girls allegedly gangraped in Karnataka forest, 3 arrested
The accused drove to an isolated forest area, where they stopped the car and allegedly gang-raped the victims. They also recorded the crime and used it to blackmail the girls, police said.

Three people have been arrested by the Karnataka police in connection to the gangrape case of two minor girls in Belagavi. One of the victims, a 17-year-old student, reportedly knew one of the accused through Instagram.
The incident occurred on January 3 and one of the victims filed a case in the Harugeri police station in Belagavi district ten days later.
The accused have been identified as Abhishek Devanoor, 18, Adil Shah Shabbir, 19, and Koutub Babusab Badiger, 22, who was initially on the run. The police said that while Balappa and Shabbir were unemployed and Badiger was a driver.
According to the police, the 17-year-old victim, a student, started talking to one of the accused, Abhishek, on Instagram.
On 3 January, the accused asked the victim to join him in his car for a drive. The victim agreed and took her friend with her.
The second accused, Shabbir, joined later, while the third accused, Badiger, drove the car, police said.
The accused drove to an isolated forest area, where they stopped the vehicle and allegedly gang-raped the two girls. The accused also recorded the crime and used it to blackmail the victims to join them for a trip to Goa, police said. They threatened to make the video public if they refused.
The victim then filed a case against the accused after which two of them were arrested.
Belagavi Superintendent of Police Bheemashankar S Guled said that a case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
