Bengaluru News Highlights (January 21): CM Siddaramaiah reiterated the government's stance to not declare a holiday in the state on Monday on account of Ayodhya Ram Mandir 'pran pratishtha ceremony'. This comes as Opposition BJP and JD(S) leaders continue to mount pressure on the state government. Responding to media queries at Tumakuru today, Siddaramaiah said the Muzrai Department will be conducting special rituals at all state-run temples during the event. "Tomorrow, I am inaugurating a new Ram Temple constructed at Mahadevapura constituency in Bengaluru," he added. There will be no holiday for government schools in the state on January 22. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah also slammed BJP Karnataka president B Y Vijayendra's remark that the Congress government in the state will be responsible for untoward incidents in the backdrop of Ram Temple inauguration tomorrow. He said it contains "threat and provocation". Vijayendra was quoted as saying by PTI security should be beefed up as there are possibilities of untoward incidents that can disturb peace in the society.
