According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the capital city of Karnataka is likely to receive rainfall till May 5.
In the next 48 hours, according to IMD, Bengaluru will have generally cloudy sky. “Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely towards evening/night. Maximum and Minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 31 and 21 degree celsius respectively,” the IMD said in a statement.
However, there were complaints of water logging on Bull Temple road, Geddalahalli on Hennur Main Road, Horamavu, Bilekahalli, and Bommanahalli. Water also gushed inside houses in Bommanahalli and Garden layout in HSR layout.
On Tuesday, the Whitefield traffic police issued a traffic advisory stating there is slow-moving traffic on Channasandra due to water logging.
According to the IMD, the reason behind the rain is a cyclonic circulation over the South East Arabian sea. “The cyclonic circulation over South East Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area now lies over Maldives area at 0.9 km above mean sea level. A trough/wind discontinuity runs from East Vidarbha to north interior Tamil Nadu across Telangana and interior Karnataka at 1.5 km above mean sea level,” the IMD said in a statement.
On Monday, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at Karwar 37.2 degree Celsius.
The Met department issued a yellow alert on Tuesday for districts like Bidar, Kalburgi, Raichur, Yadgir, Ramanagara, Kolar, Bengaluru rural, Mysuru, Kodagu, Chamarajanagara, Mandya, and Chikkaballapur.
