Budday boy
Seems like Farhan Akhtar just can’t bring himself to leave the sets of his show Oye…It’s Friday! So much so,that he’s even celebrating his birthday there today. For once,Farhan will be at the receiving end of surprises and pranks, and thankfully, also gifts. The episode will focus on the new flick From Chandni Chowk to China, with actress Deepika Padukone opening up about everything from her movies to Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. There will also be a sizzling performance by Sherlyn Chopra and spellbinding Cyre Wheel act by Mattias Lindstrom from Sweden. And right at the end,as a special birthday surprise for Farhan, his dad Javed Akhtar will visit the sets to wish him. Quite a birthday.

Sweating it
The heat was up on the sets of Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye and it was not because of the chemistry between the leads. Apparently,a romantic scene was to be shot with Raima Sen and Arbaaz Khan in which the two are surrounded by a hundred candles. Arbaaz,it seems, could not take the heat. He says,“In the beginning, everything seemed normal. But after a while the heat from the hundred candles became a bit too much and that made me nervous,as anything can happen on the sets when there are a hundred candles lit around you. But Raima and my director Madhureeta made the scene very comfortable for me.”

Booked
The Library of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Oscar Library) has expressed an interest in acquiring a copy of the screenplay of Kismet Konnection for its permanent core collection. The scripts in their collection are made accessible for research purposes only; students, filmmakers, writers and actors are among their regular patrons. Ramesh Taurani, owner of Tips Films, which produced the movie,is over the moon about it and says,“It’s always a pleasure to be recognised for your craft by one of the most respectable film bodies of our times.” A close friend of Shahid Kapur, who played the male lead in the movie, reports that with the Oscar library acquiring the script of the film,Shahid, who already felt privileged to be part of the movie, now feels even more privileged. But we wonder why the library chose this movie? Perhaps it’s compiling a handbook on how not to make a movie.
