Usha Bajaj and Pravinchandra J Gandhi,both consumer protection activists,were declared elected to the governing board of Consumer Education and Research Society (CERS). While Bajaj was elected for the first time,Gandhi,who had retired after a three-year term,was re-elected. The four other contestants who lost the election are Social Worker Ketankumar Keshavlal Patel,Consumer Activist Dipak C Mangtani,Industrialist Janak G Nanavaty and Harendra V Joshi.
The two new members were elected after Gandhi and Mangtani retired this year. The Consumer Education and Research Centre (CERC) had promoted CERS in 1986 as a registered membership society.
