Two held for kidnapping,robbing share broker

Two persons have been arrested by the Ahmedabad rural police on charges of abducting and robbing a city-based share broker,Bharat Patel.

Sources said that there were six youths who took around Rs 27.75 lakh from Patel on Wednesday.

However,four other accused in the case are still at large.

The arrested youths —Milind Thakkar and Timin — are residents of Bopal. The police said that the accused,their four friends and Patel were in a habit of gambling.

“Patel had lost Rs 1.90 crore during a gambling session last week. This incident can be fallout of that gambling session,as Patel was not able to pay back the money,” said Sarkhej inspector J P Raol.

On Wednesday afternoon,Jitendra Dheerajlal alias JD,Milind Thakkar,Timin,Raju and two others allegedly kidnapped Patel in a car and took him to a deserted place,about 100 kms from Bopal,the police said.

After reaching there,the accused robbed Patel of his wallet and valuables.

They also took keys of his house and car along with his debit and credit cards.

Later,they allegedly robbed cash and valuables from his residence in Chanakyapuri.

“Thakkar and Timin are presently being interrogated and the other four accused will be arrested soon,” Raol said.
