Two cops on night parol attacked in Bopal area

Two policemen were attacked and their vehicle was hit by some unidentified miscreants near Homeopathic college road in Bopal area early on Thursday while they were on night duty.

Police said a two-member team of Sarkhej police,led by Head constable Pratapsinh Abhaysinh,was on a night patrol. The police team intercepted a gravel-laden Eicher truck around 1.50 am and asked the driver to stop the vehicle.

In a bid to escape,the truck driver hit Sarkhej police station jeep twice. Some of the miscreants,who were sitting on the rear side of the truck,pelted stones at the police officers. No one was injured in the incident.

Based on a complaint filed by Abhaysinh,Sarkej police have registered an offence against the yet-to-be-identified accused. We are on the lookout of the accused. A search operation has been initiated in this regard, Inspector S S Gadhavi said.
